As the go to watch show Basel World 2019 fast approaches the conversations in the trade and amoungst collectors starts to gather pace.
Everyone predicting and discussing what maybe launched this year. Rolex always draw a big crowd and non attendees will be refreshing www.rolex.com every minute on March 21st to see what the latest creations are. Then hot footing it to the nearest AD and attempting to place orders. More rose gold will be introduced into the sports range I say. I would like to see a blue dial or green steel Submariner, I think the Daytona range will all have ceramic bezels very soon. Will we see a steel and rose gold sub and a full rose Sub?
Patek Philippe will be exibiting and they for sure won’t fail to impress. I think the Aquanaut and Nautlius range will be extended with some more colourful pieces, especially the 42mm Aquanaut in steel currently only available in white gold. They have been modelling the range to appeal to the younger buyer over the last few years. I did hear from a friend in the City that the company maybe for sale which is surprising as it’s been privately owned since its launch.
The Basel World exhibition is on from 21st to 26th March and for those who haven’t visited it’s definitely worth the effort. It’s hard to see it all in a day and unless you have an account with the watch brands it’s very much look but don’t touch.
We will be attending and very much look forward to the event
