In 1998 Rolex launched the 16520 model increasing the case size from 37.5 to 39mm and for only one year it was made with this now highly desirable and very rare dial.
The MK1 dial is now known as the porcelain dial for its glossy appearance and 3D font – it’s not actually made from porcelain but has multi-layered lacquer giving this unique appearance. It also a gap after the 4 line text which is unique to the Mk 1 & 2 dials known as floating Cosmograph.
This R serial watch was manufactured in 1988 and remains in superb condition, the case is unpolished and is a complete set which adds to its rarity.
